The palace was the residence of King Minos (considered as the son of Europe and Zeus) but also the administrative and religious centre of the region. You will admire the colorful columns and frescoes which decorate the walls of the palace depicting scenes of the everyday life and varying ceremonies of a rather sophisticated society.
